Life's Curveballs Pt. 1

School is out for summer break and no one is happier than Sage! She has been enjoying the time with her best friend, and crush, Bill Walsh. Bill is the first friend Sage made when she started school after being bullied for a few weeks. She would come home crying because the other kids would tease her and call her names. Bill lives a few houses over and being new to the neighborhood asked Sage if they could play together. The two became best friends, but when they play soccer together the rivalry gets real, LOL!  She has also been doing just the regular kid stuff and hanging out in the pool, drawing, writing in her journal and of course watching tv and playing video games. Sage doesn't like to brag but she's amazing at Arithmetic Attack! The last weekend of her vacation, her father decided to take the family on a fun camping outing to Granite Falls.
Sage  was super excited to spend some time outdoors camping. Her little sister, Gia, had a much different reaction and was a little scared to go because she is scared of the bears in the woods. Her big sister helped her to calm down and get a good night's sleep so that they could leave early in the morning.

Sage is the big sister so if Sage says its okay then Gia doesn't question it. She knows her big sister will always be there to protect her. The next morning the family packed up and left for the cabin they would be staying in overnight. Chantel and Paka only wanted to stay for two days and come back home Sunday so Sage could get a good night's sleep before school started again. The drive to the cabin was a long one, but after a few hours in the car the family pulled up to the cabin not knowing exactly what to expect because anyone  can post random pictures online. Luckily for them, the cabin was great and full of amenities for every age.
Once they took a look around and put their things away, the family spent some time outdoors and playing a game of horseshoes.

Unfortunately, the heat outside was too much to spend a long time outside so the family moved indoors where they watched a movie and had dinner. The girls went to bed shortly after leaving Chantel and Paka to talk in private for the first time that day. They loved their daughters, but they didn't want them to know about their secret just yet.

The camping trip turned out to be fun for everyone and a nice break from the house, but it was cut short due to a severe thunderstorm. The family tried to make the most of it though by watching a movie together, playing board games and just hanging out. When they returned home Chantel decided it was time to let the girls in on the big surprise because she was beginning to show. She and Paka were over-joyed and told Sage she would again be a big sister because they were expecting a new baby!

Sage was very excited to be a big sister again because she really loved spending time with Gia, though lately she hadn't done so as much since she started attending Drama Club after school. Once she finished with that activity she came home to eat dinner and complete her homework, which left little time to play with Gia before her bedtime. After hearing the exciting news, Sage left for school. Paka and Chantel also headed out to their first ultrasound appointment and Paka kept touching Chantel's stomach while they waited for the nanny to arrive. This pregnancy was one that hadn't really been planned, but also wasn't unwelcome. Paka and Chantel had both agreed that they would be up for one more child if it was meant to be.

The ultrasound appointment went better than expected for Chantel and Paka where they found out they would be having a boy! Both had been hoping for a little boy and already had a name picked out for him - Jeremiah. They also agreed that this would be their last child as the family now felt complete with two daughters already and a son on the way.

Unfortunately, tragedy struck later in the early morning hours of the next day...

**Creators Note: So I know I said that this part would focus more on Sage, and I intended for it to, but my game had other ideas and who am I to go against my game? The next part will absolutely have more Sage, as her story also took an interesting, unexpected, turn. I will try to get part 2 up later this week because I never intended this to be two parts originally.
